Southern California Typographic Vernacular

This project delves into the distinct typographic identity of North Park, San Diego, through a series of Polaroid-inspired images influenced by Ed Fella’s Letters on America. The collection highlights unique, quirky signage that captures the nostalgia and Americana inherent in the neighborhood, reflecting the region’s cultural and visual essence. These images embody local craftsmanship and charm, presenting typography that feels exclusive to San Diego. Using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, I’ve curated a cohesive visual narrative that blends Fella’s unconventional typographic style with a contemporary design sensibility, celebrating the eclectic beauty of North Park’s visual language.
